What to expect from the whales and dolphins tour

Please arrive 20-30 minutes early at the Tarifa port, pier 2. Always remember to allow extra time for your journey to Tarifa, as parking may be difficult, especially during high season months when traffic is heavy.

Preparations

Depending on the month of your tour, you might want to bring a jacket or a hoodie, as it can get a bit cooler sometimes in the Strait of Gibraltar. Here in the Strait, there are days when we might get splashed with water, so we have raincoats for everyone on those days. Feel free to bring water if you’d like; the tour lasts 2 hours. During the summer months, you can comfortably wear flip flops. And that’s it—just bring your good mood and eagerness to enjoy a beautiful experience.

At the port

At the port, the captain will greet you, providing a weather update, insights on potential wildlife sightings, and distributing life jackets to each passenger, including children. Our boat, recognized as the most secure at sea, is frequently employed by maritime rescue for its exceptional stability

You’ll venture out into the Strait of Gibraltar in search of wildlife. Keep an eye on the sea for any signs of blows or fins. Each tour is unique because the animals are free to roam the Strait of Gibraltar at their own will. However, over 15 years of experience have provided us with insights into their whereabouts based on tides and daily weather conditions. Some tours may encounter dolphins, others whales, and some both whales and dolphins. That’s why it’s always an adventure to see which species we’ll encounter this time.
